Aude Walker-Viry

Cello

After studying the cello at the CRD in Bourges, Aude Walker-Viry went on to perfect her skills with Marie-Paule Milone at the conservatoire in Rueil-Malmaison. In 2009, she was unanimously awarded a 1st Prize in chamber music and a Prix d'excellence for cello. That same year, she took opera singing lessons with Carole Bajac at the Clichy Conservatoire.

It was during a seminar given by Gérard Lesne and Il seminario musicale in November 2010 that she took her first steps into the world of baroque music. Introduced to the baroque cello by Claire Giardelli, she joined her class at the CNSMD in Lyon in June 2011. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree and her DNSPM, she did an Erasmus Master's year in Leipzig (Germany). There she gained new human and musical experiences with cellists Jan Freiheit and Jaap ter Linden. In June 2016, she obtained a master's degree in baroque cello with first-class honours.

Passionate about performing early music on period instruments, Aude and friends from the CNSMD founded the Matali Ensemble, a violin consort performing Renaissance music.

She performs both chamber music and orchestral music with ensembles such as the Jeune Orchestre Atlantique (Herreweghe) and the Orchestre Français des Jeunes baroque (Coin), as well as with Les Surprises, Les ArcheTypes, the ensemble Colla parte in Nîmes and the ensemble Viel Lärm Um Nichts from Weimar (Germany).
