The composer Alessandro Stradella is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating figures in the vast world of 17th-century Italian Baroque music. Seductive, adventurous and versatile, he was no less a composer of genius. His vast and varied output includes some real treasures that should be rediscovered. The Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon holds some of these masterpieces, giving us a glimpse of a man who was more sincere than his antics might suggest...
