Si notre \u00e9poque contemporaine n’est pas avare en crises et menaces, la d\u00e9cennie o\u00f9 Vivaldi composa les \u0153uvres de notre programme n’ont rien \u00e0 envier au temps pr\u00e9sent. Autour des ann\u00e9es 1720, les \u00e9v\u00e9nements sombres ne permettent pas encore de qualifier le si\u00e8cle de Vivaldi de \u00ab si\u00e8cle des lumi\u00e8res \u00bb. Les soubresauts de la Guerre de succession au tr\u00f4ne d’Espagne – v\u00e9ritable bain de sang \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle de l’Europe – les \u00e9pid\u00e9mies encore nombreuses de peste et de variole, la violence orchestr\u00e9e par les dictateurs, en font un temps o\u00f9 r\u00e8gne avant tout l’angoisse.<\/p>\n

Les motets de Vivaldi, compos\u00e9s pour la plupart pour les filles de la Piet\u00e0, anges de lumi\u00e8res sur terre, sont l’incarnation musicale de ces espoirs. Temp\u00eates et bourrasques musicales pr\u00e9sentent en nombre dans ces miniatures lyriques, m\u00e9taphores de ces turbulences qui accablent l’humanit\u00e9, pr\u00e9c\u00e8dent l’apparition de la lumi\u00e8re. Car dans les convulsions de la nature inqui\u00e8te, luit d\u00e9j\u00e0 la Divina Stella<\/strong><\/em>, l’\u00e9toile divine qui \u00e9claire l’humanit\u00e9. Ce clair-obscur qui habite les \u0153uvres de notre s\u00e9lection, vibrantes et th\u00e9\u00e2trales, nous enseignent la patience et la confiance en des jours meilleurs, ou la musique guidera les \u00e2mes inqui\u00e8tes.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
